Party Preview

Both of my little ones have birthdays coming up in the coming weeks. Gavin my youngest loves animals and so I have created a Safari Theme for his party this weekend. This is a little preview of more pictures to come. I have had a lot of fun planning his party. I cant wait to see him get excited over all the jungle stuff. Planning parties on a dime with very inexpensive decorations is another favorite hobby of mine. When I post the pics of his party I will give ya'll a break down of my budget. Then u can see it doesn't take a lot of $$$ to host a great party, it just takes creativity.Oh...and a little time too!

Spring Blocks

I finished these darling blocks for my mantel a while ago but as life goes I haven't had much time to share them with you.

I had my dear husband cut and sand the blocks for me. I spray painted them white then added paper to the fronts with modge podge. My trick for getting the paper really flat is to use a very thin layer of modge under the paper then use a credit card to smoothe. Make sure you let each layer dry for at least 20 minutes.

Then I added "Spring" vinyl right over the top. You can make these for any season. A very easy, affordable project.

Takes the Cake

I made these adorable hair pieces for three beautiful divas this Easter. Each hairpiece perfectly complimented their floral dresses. They looked adorable on and I thought I would share them with you. For now I am not selling them but will definitely do custom creations if you like. They are perfect for special occasions, birthday parties, holidays and dressing up.

Each piece includes a headband, and a hat piece adorned with fabric flowers, tulle, feathers and more. I had a lot of fun making these and I am very excited to share them. Thank you to my friend for inspiring me and for her three beautiful daughters for being the perfect models.

Easter Buckets

I finished my kiddos Easter buckets tonight. I know it is a little last minute but spring cleaning has taken priority this month.

I made the buckets after my very crafty s.i.l. gave me the cute idea. I purchased my buckets for $2 at Target. I placed vinyl bunnies and lettering on the front then had my husband drill holes for the handle. I used organza ribbon braided together to make a sturdy handle. Then I filled it with FUN! Now u have an idea for next year.

Girls Night Out

Every month some girls from church get together and do something fun. They go out for dessert, have dinner together, make a craft or go to a fun activity. This month I am in charge of a craft for Valentine's Day. I put together these blocks that are so CUTE. I am very proud at how they turned out! I used different sizes of wood blocks (thanks hubby for cutting them for me), spray paint, modge podge, scrap booking paper, and vinyl letters. Very fun.

If you would like to make this project on your own and you just need the vinyl let me know. The letter sets are only $5.00.

Feel the Love

I know, I know... Christmas just ended and I hate it when I am shopping for Christmas presents and I see Valentine's Day gifts out at the stores...but I had to share.

These are some of the items I will be featuring this coming "Love" Day.

This bow is one of my favorites. It is made with several colors and patterns of red, pink, and hot pink ribbons. In the center are red feathers and a giant hot pink rhinestone button! I am definitely going to have to make one of these for my daughter, and find an outfit to match.

"The Love Jar" is a great addition to your Valentine's display...or even a great gift for a friend or special someone. You will be able to purchase the vinyl label and ribbon bow on my site soon, so you can make your own! The vinyl measures 4.5 inches X 12.5 inches. This apothecary jar is from the one and only WALMART. They have a variety of sizes and they are very reasonable.  I filled mine with a lot of kisses. You can fill it with reasons why you love someone or any treat of your choice.

I hope you enjoyed these, cause I really enjoyed making them!

XOXO,

A Hard Days Work

As you can see...I worked all day today to get my bow stock up. Solids, prints and Valentine's bows coming soon. This was the easy part, adding backs and finishing the edges is much more tedious. If you have any suggestions for colors or styles you would like to see more of let me know.

New Items for the New Year

These are some of the new items I am selling for this new year. I am very excited about some of my new creations. I know it is probably strange to many of you how excited I get over bows and hair accessories. I get excited about anything new but especially things I or my daughter can wear. As a child I used to love to draw clothes. I had once dreamed of becoming a fashion designer and somehow lost that vision along the road of life. I think this small business allows me to fulfill, in a small way, that dream.

These new items are already up for sale on my ETSY site. Please don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions about them. I am also on FACEBOOK now under Potpourri Patch.  This is a great place to view my new items and custom creatons as well.

Don't forget to check out my new SHABBY ROSES, POTPOURRI POMPOM FLOWERS and EXTRA LARGE BOW BANDS. These are some of my favorites.

ENJOY!

Custom for the Holidays

This is one of my Satin Holiday Poinsettia's in black but instead of feathers and tulle I added gold ribbon and a large rhinestone accent. This was made to match a black and gold Christmas dress.
This was made to match a cute turquoise and apple green baby outfit. I think from Carter's. Made with a mixture of grosgrain ribbons in a variety of sizes. Again with a large rhinestone accent center.

Matching Mom & Daughter Bands

I made these for a friend of mine for Christmas. Her daughter and her have matching outfits and she wanted twin headbands to match. I am sure they are going to look adorable together.

The headbands are made out of a teal chiffon fabric, with button, jewel and pearl centers. Then I attached them to black metal headbands. These headbands are very comfortable and don't pinch behind the ears as some headbands do. They fit most heads, child to adult.

Creating these headbands has sparked my interest in making more matching mom and daughter headbands. I hope to offer more colors and styles, like these, after the first of the year.

Check back for more cute items!

Letter To Santa

I was looking for a Christmas card that my daughter could color and send to Santa and I didn't find any good ones...so I created my own.

My daughter loved this. I helped her write her letter and glue a picture of what she wanted in the box. You could have them color a picture there or copy and paste a picture directly into the file on the computer. Add a stamp, return address and put it in the mail and make all your little ones dreams come true.

Download the file by right clicking on the image, choosing "save as" in the menu and saving the document to your own computer. Printing it as an 8.5 by 11 page works best. It isn't too late to get it in the mail, but be advised it probably will be returned to you;)

Merry Christmas to all. Enjoy.

Turkey Place Settings

My little girl and I made these for our Thanksgiving feast. Instead of making them into a family tree we just made them into place setting labels. It was great practice for her to write her letters. We're getting ready for kindergarten.

I used hot glue to attach the leafs, cardboard looking paper, and some left over stickers. This was a very easy and useful craft for turkey day. This idea was from of one of my favorite kids websites KABOOSE. It is sponsored by Disney and has great ideas for young children.

Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!
